Build the Trail

Further development of the trail has been broken down into 12 sections.

Sections 1-6 are north of the current northern terminus in Jones Mills and when finished could tie in with the 26 mile PW&S trail system and Blair Brothers Railroad located in Forbes State Forest. They are listed in a north to south order, with section 1 being the northernmost section and section 6 the southernmost.  Section 6 is partially complete and meets up with the current ICV Trail at its northern terminus on Grist Mill Lane in Jones Mills.

Sections 7-12, the southern extension, with section 7 starting at the existing southern terminus of the ICV Trail and section 12 being the crossing of the Youghiogheny River and subsequent tie in with the Great Allegheny Passage Trail.

For super duper detailed information about future development plans for the trail can be found in our Trail Feasibility Study.
